Roman

I hate to brag, but I spent my Valentine's Day with a pretty handsome guy. Meet Roman. He's this year's mascot for the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA. He's here to remind you to think of CASPCA if you're looking to introduce a new four-legged member to your family, or looking for a local organization full of cute, fuzzy faces to donate time or money to.

Crozet Christmas Parade

Today was the second time we've been able to walk in the Crozet Christmas Parade. The difference in temperature from last year was literally about twenty degrees, which made for a much more pleasant walk. But honestly, I like a little chill in the air for my Christmas activities.

Now due to a combination of having 2 little ones capable of running around this year and the fact that the firehouse seemed to be much more crowded for the post-parade festivities than it was last year, I wasn't able to grab shots of the cookies and Santa excitement. Luckily, we've been invited to a party next week and word on the street is that the big guy will be making an appearance. I'll keep you posted.

Belated Thanks

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love the days and weeks leading up to Christmas, but as far as the actual day goes, Thanksgiving is tops in my book. It's a little less hectic; just good food, good friends, family. For us, it's time in Virginia Beach followed by some R&R by ourselves in the Outer Banks. Perfection.

You may have gathered from previous years, favorite Thanksgiving dish:

This year, we decided to hit Kites with Lights at Kitty Hawk Kites. We weren't able to stay until it was dark enough for the lights to really shine, but it was a really cool gathering and a beautiful sunset.

If you're one of the lucky ones who is in the Outer Banks the Saturday after Thanksgiving, I'd definitely recommend a trek up Jockey's Ridge for it.
